(School Readiness) ReadyWeb: A Resource for Parents and Educators

This site provides "an electronic collection of resources on school readiness sponsored by the ERIC Clearinghouse on Elementary and Early Childhood Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, funded by the U.S. Department of Education." It features articles and links to resources on research, public policy, statistics, parenting tips, and other topics. Also includes bibliographies on transitioning to kindergarten and reading, writing, and school readiness. This site is searchable.

The Social Science Information Gateway (SOSIG) is a freely available Internet service which aims to provide a trusted source of selected, high quality Internet information for students, academics, researchers and practitioners in the social sciences, business and law. It is part of the United Kingdom Resource Discovery Network. The education section division includes the following major sections: Adult Education; Educational Policy; Educational Theory; Elementary Education; Further Education; Higher Education; Primary Education; Secondary Education; Special Education; Teaching Methods; Training of Teachers and Educators; and Vocational Education.
